'Young London/Tender Wounds’ is an ongoing archival project currently spanning eight years, its inception forming when my father gave me his old camera at the age of 16.

To put this project simply, it serves as an ode to the chosen family who kept me grounded through a sense of belonging during a time when these foundational needs were not something I could gain in the traditional sense of the home. As an only child with a single parent, the homes, families and lives of my friends became both a haven and an escape. Resultantly, although it is them depicted through these photographs, I see myself just as present, opening up the lens of my own emotional perception and the fleeting moments which form our small scale collective memory.
